압력(atmospheric pressure to megabars),
온도(atmospheric temperature to thousands of kelvin), 그리고 시간(femto-second to giga-year)을 변수로 하는 다차원 극한환경 하에서의 물질 연구를 통해 지구와 행성의 형성과 진화과정을 이해하고 지질과학이 중심이 된 융합적 기초과학 연구센터의 모델을 정립함

By exploring materials under multi-dimensional extreme environments by pressure, temperature, and time, we expand our understanding of the formation and evolution of the Earth and planets and establish a model of geoscience-driven convergence basic research center
